Y6 Transition Day | Thurs, 3rd July 2025 (8:45am - 2:45pm)
We are looking forward to welcoming all our furture Year 7's on Transition Day.
This is an incredibly exciting and important day in your child’s life at Cove School - an opportunity for them to meet their form group and form tutor for the first time. They will spend the whole day in their form group, complete a number of settling in activities and meet a number of staff throughout the day.
Students should arrive at school by 8.45am and go directly to the Sports Hall, via the gate on the right-hand side of the school buildings. There will be prefects in high vis at the gate to guide them in the right direction.
Please ensure your child is fully equipped with:
- a school bag (ruck sack type)
- pencil case
- pen
- pencil
- ruler
- rubber
- bottle of water
Your child should wear their current school uniform and shoes (no trainers, plimsolls or canvas shoes – unless this is their usual uniform). PE kit will not be required for this transition day.
Children from junior schools who do not have a school uniform should come in smart (non-denim) trousers, shoes and a plain coloured top.
Please contact the school if there are any queries or problems and we will do our best to help. Students need to bring a packed lunch and drink on the day.
Students who receive Free School Meals will be provided with a packed lunch (free from nuts) from our canteen, please confirm on the taster session booking form whether they will require a meal on the day.
If your child has any medication that they may need to take during the day, or they have any ongoing medical conditions that we need to be aware of, please let us know in advance.
Any medication your child may require on the day will need to be brought with them.
The end of the day will be at 2.45pm and your child will exit from the same gates that they used on arrival.
