Leaver's assembly for the Class of 2026!
A mixture of emotions as our amazing Year 11 students have their last assembly at Cove School. As they bring their formal education to an end and leave us in a few weeks time ready for whatever the future brings, we wish them all the very best. They have grown up into fine young men and women ready to make a difference in the world. We will miss them, please keep in touch and let us know how life works out!

Remembrance Day is a very special day at Cove School and as part of our Service on Tuesday 10th November, if your child is in an armed cadet force or other similar organisation such as Scouts, they are welcome to wear their uniform on that day as a mark of respect. All other students should be wearing full school uniform.

We are proud to become a member of the ARC!
The Attachment Research Community (ARC) is a charitable organisation set up in 2017 by virtual school heads, school leaders, psychologists, training organisations and academics, with a mission for ‘every school to be attachment and trauma aware’.
ARC’s purpose is to support all schools and education settings to be attachment and trauma aware in their practice for the benefit of all members of the learning community and particularly the most vulnerable, by bringing together, sharing and celebrating best practice. Promoting mental health and well-being through Attachment & Trauma Aware approaches in education.
As members of The Attachment Research Community, we support everyone’s attachment needs by:
• Promoting inclusion and preventing exclusion
• Developing effective strategies to support children and adults
• Providing high quality training for everyone in our setting

CSSEF Assembly!
CSSEF recently came to visit Y7 and teach them about Deaf awareness and teach them some British Sign Language. It was a really fun and interactive session.

They have been in operation for over 10 years - they fund Wishes which can range from funding a cycle helmet that fits with Cochlear Implants, BAHA’s and Hearing Aids; to working with Schools for Deaf children to ensure they have the best accessibility to their education. Reminder of our Year 9 Information Evening tonight - This evening will provide an overview of the year ahead, including key dates and useful resources to support students’ learning and wellbeing.
We will also introduce the GCSE option subjects available for study in 2027 and explain the options process, including important deadlines and the support available to help students make informed choices. These decisions will play an important part in shaping their future pathways into further education, training and apprenticeships.
We look forward to welcoming you this evening, please come to the Main Hall (you can enter the Hall through the blue school gate to the right of Reception).

Post-16 Education Information Morning
Yesterday, all of our Year 11 students took part in our Post-16 Education Information Morning, where they had the opportunity to hear from representatives from a range of local colleges and education providers.
Students were able to meet the visiting representatives, learn more about the different opportunities available to them, and ask questions about their options for further study after Cove School.
This is an important time for our Year 11 students as they begin to consider their next steps and make decisions about their future.
We strongly encourage students to attend as many college open events as possible, giving them the chance to explore different courses, facilities and learning environments, and to gather the information they need to make informed choices as they begin the college application process.
Thank you to all of the Post-16 education representatives who joined us for our event!

Cove School needs You!
Remembrance Day is a very special day at Cove School and we want to always increase the number of people within our community that we recognise. If you are an ex-service person or you would like to remember someone special who fought in a war or was an ex-service person, please send details to us. We would like to know name, armed force, date of birth, what relation they are to you and any applicable information about their career. We will then hold them forever dear in our Roll of Honour.
Please email details to Mrs C Bidwell- Deputy Headteacher c.bidwell@coveschool.uk

Happy World Teacher's Day!
Today, we celebrate the teaching profession around the world and recognise the incredible difference teachers make every single day.
Here at Cove School, we'd like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful teachers, who work tirelessly to inspire, support and encourage our students - often going above and beyond to help them achieve their best.
Thank you for everything you do!

Overthinking can make a small worry feel huge.
It often shows up at bedtime, before school, after a tricky conversation, or when your child is trying to make the “right” choice. The mind goes round and round, looking for certainty that simply is not there.
A helpful pause can be as simple as asking: “Do I know this for sure?” “Will this still matter next week?” “Is there one small thing I can do now?”
If there is no action to take, it is okay to write the worry down and come back to it later. A walk, a stretch, a few slow breaths, or putting the phone aside can help bring the body out of alarm too.
Children do not need perfect answers from us. They need calm reminders that a thought is not always a fact, and that they do not have to solve everything tonight.
