Montgomery Day

Montgomeryday1

Montgomery Day was held on Friday 12th February raising money for Help for Heroes. The amount raised is currently in excess of £450.  A special mention needs to go out to 3 individuals in 9M2, Mia Howlett, Bradley Cliff and Saurav Gurung who raised over £200 between them by doing a sponsored silence.

Other activities were also put on by Montgomery staff and students which included a ‘Cove Bake-Off’ which was won by Adam Kearley and Kira Miraoui with a spectacular cake decorated as a swimming pool. A big thank you needs to go to anyone, whether in Montgomery or not who baked cakes and donated them to be sold. Mrs Lock in 9M1 and her form did a sterling job at helping sell and organise the bake-off. Mrs Jones also needs a mention for helping store the cakes and being a crucial judge in the competition.

At lunch time Montgomery Day took to the Sports Hall where the PE staff (with some ringers) competed in a charity netball game against the ‘all-star’ staff team. With the height advantage of Mr Woods as goal shooter the PE team came out on top. The crowd did, however, have an extra treat with the PE staff, together with Mr Whitby and Miss Shennan all sporting an array of multi-coloured wigs.
